Jerusalem (Gaza City), Apr 16 (ANI): Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu coupled praise for U.S.-led strikes on Syrian targets on Sunday with a warning that Iran's presence there further endangers Syria. Netanyahu said Syrian President Bashar al-Assad must understand "that when he allows Iran and its proxies to establish its military presence in Syria, he is endangering Syria and the stability of the entire region." An Israeli official said Israel was notified of the strikes ahead of time. The armed Iranian-backed Shi'ite movement Hezbollah, which has an extensive missile arsenal, last fought a war with Israel in 2006. Elsewhere, in Gaza City, a handful of Palestinian protesters staged a demonstration in support of Assad. They chanted pro Syrian slogans and burned U.S. flags.
