Kathmandu (Nepal), Dec 29 (ANI): Nepal’s former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak appeared before a high-level inquiry commission probing the violent Gen-Z protests that rocked the country in September. Lekhak faces allegations of authorising excessive force during clashes on September 8 and 9, which claimed at least 77 lives and left thousands injured. The commission, headed by former judge Gauri Bahadur Karki, is in the final phase of its investigation after receiving a one-month extension. Former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is also expected to be questioned next week. Statements from top security and administrative officials have already been recorded. A government report estimates losses of Rs 84.45 billion due to widespread damage to public and private property nationwide.
