Kathmandu (Nepal) Nepali climber Tashi Gyalzen Sherpa received a hero’s welcome in Kathmandu after scaling Mount Everest four times in just 15 days — a new record in mountaineering. The 29-year-old from Phortse reached the summit on May 9, 14, 19, and 23, including a solo climb from Camp IV carrying his own oxygen and gear.He was part of the rope-fixing team with the 8K Expedition that opened the route for other climbers this season. Tashi has previously climbed Everest from both Nepal and Tibet sides, and also summited Cho Oyu, Manaslu, and Ama Dablam. His achievement stands out amid the growing commercialization of Everest, highlighting Sherpa resilience and spirit.
