Nepal starts screening over northern borders after outbreak of Coronavirus

Kathmandu (Nepal), Jan 27 (ANI): Nepal has started screening at the borders with China after confirmation of a Nepali Wuhan returnee to be infected with the virus while two are kept in isolation. Two border openings of Nepal which now are functional in between Nepal and China are being monitored on a regular basis. The ministry is mulling over the decision to establish health desk at tourists destinations namely: Bharatpur, Chitwan, Pokhara, Kaski, and Bhairahawa, Lumbini. Nepal, on Friday, became the first country in South Asia to confirm the case of the deadly virus, which was detected as a student infected with the virus showed symptoms after returning to the Himalayan nation from Wuhan. Over a 1,000 people are confirmed to be infected with the virus, while many others quarantined by health authorities to stop the disease from further spreading. The government of Nepal on Sunday also has ordered all the private and government-run hospitals to submit their contingency plans in case infection of the virus increases in the country.
