Nepal receives special gifts on India’s Independence Day

Kathmandu/Birgunj (Nepal), Aug 15 (ANI): The Indian Embassy in Nepal on Wednesday handed over 30 ambulances and six buses to various hospitals, non-profit charitable organizations and educational institutions of Nepal on the occasion of 72nd Independence Day. The function held in Indian Embassy premises started with the flag hoisting and deliberation of the speech made by Indian President Ram Nath Kovind by Indian Ambassador to Nepal Manjeev Singh Puri. Puri highlighted the achievements of India in various fields in the past decades. On the occasion, the Indian Ambassador also felicitated widows and wards of deceased soldiers of the Indian Armed Forces by distributing cheques worth 53.5 million Nepalese rupees. Similar celebrations were held at Indian consulate in Birgunj district of Nepal where Consul General of India to Nepal B.C. Pradhan presided over the Independence Day celebrations. A number of cultural performances enthralled members of the Indian community in Nepal who had come to join the Independence Day celebrations.
