Nepal Polls: Left alliance celebrate victory over first-past-the-post counts

Kavre (Nepal), Dec 14 (ANI): The red flags have gone high in Nepal, denoting rise of the communist government in the Himalayan nation which witnessed a series of government changes over a period of time. Communist government has emerged as the largest party with the end of vote counts of the first-past-the-post (FPTP) for federal parliament and provincial assembly. As per the FTTP final results, CPN-UML has won 80 seats in the Federal Parliament and 166 in the Provincial Assemblies. Similarly, the CPN (Maoist Centre) has won in 36 seats in the Central Parliament and 73 Provincial constituencies. Nepali Congress, the biggest party of the dissolved parliament, has won 23 seats in Federal Constituencies and 45 seats in the provincial constituencies. But the vote count of Proportional Representation is expected to change the instance with pushing up the Nepali Congress to the second biggest party in the parliament as well as the opposition. Nepal will be getting its new government under new structure of federalism early next month.
