Kathmandu (Nepal), Mar 07 (ANI): Locals and foreign tourists in Nepal daubed themselves with colours ahead of the Hindu festival of colours Holi. The Bashantapur Durbar Square area in capital Kathmandu, which houses royal palaces, witnessed an explosion of colours, with revellers, especially foreign tourists, smearing each other with bright hues and dancing on the streets. Celebrated at the onset of spring in both India and Nepal, Holi holds a mythological importance - that of the triumph of good over evil. It is also associated with the eternal love of the Hindu Lord Krishna and his consort Radha and a riot of colours.
