Nepal: Interim PM Calls All-Party Meet, Assures Timely Election

Kathmandu (Nepal), December 06 (ANI): Nepal’s Interim Prime Minister Sushila Karki convened an all-party meeting with just 90 days remaining for the upcoming House of Representatives election, scheduled for March 5, 2026. The nearly three-hour discussion was held at the Prime Minister’s official residence, where leaders of major political parties were assured that the election would be conducted on time. Representatives from the Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and Nepali Communist Party took part in the talks. The Election Commission has intensified preparations and invited political parties to apply for participation under the proportional electoral system. The current interim government, formed after the Gen-Z movement of September 8 and 9 and the dissolution of the House, is focused on ensuring a smooth and timely electoral process.
