Nepal gears up to celebrate Tihar with ardour

Kathmandu (Nepal), Oct 24 (ANI): Ason Bazaar, one of the oldest markets located in the heart of the Nepali capital Kathmandu is bustling with shoppers as shops are all lit up, as the Himalayan nation prepares to mark the second biggest festival of Tihar. Shopkeepers and hawkers have are seen carefully laying their merchandise on display in make-shift stalls and outside their shops. For the festival, people usually buy spices for their brothers to offer them on Bhaitika along with the gifts such as “Dhaka Topi” and clothes and the materials needed for puja rituals. Tihar is regarded as a festival of lights and decorations and the markets have also come to life with lights and decorative materials. People visiting the market are seen buying the items for the Bhaitika.
