Kathmandu (Nepal), Jan 16 (ANI): Nepal marked the beginning of the holy festival of Makar Mela. People thronged the holy Tribeni Ghat in Kavrepalanchowk District on January 15 in Kathmandu. People were seen taking a dip in the holy river amid the chilling weather and the rising COVID-19 threat. “The Mela is held in every 12 years. The devotees take a bath here to throw away all the sins they have done in their lives,” one of the devotees said while speaking to ANI. The festival is celebrated in every 12 years, and is considered as an occasion when people can get rid of their sins by taking a holy bath.
