Nepal celebrates Naag Panchami with fervour

Kathmandu (Nepal), Aug 05 (ANI): 5th Day of bright half moon of Nepali month of Shrawan as per lunar calendar is regarded as Naag Panchami. People flock to nearby ponds and Naag temples to worship serpentine deity. Naag Pokhari, a pond dedicated to serpent deity in Naxal of Kathmandu was worshiped. Special offerings of dubo grass, flower and rice grains mixed with red vermillion powder were offered to deities. Festival of Naag Panchami is also regarded as festival that strengthens the bond between the humans and the nature.
