Kathmandu (Nepal), Nov 06 (ANI): Hindus in Nepal observed Kukur Tihar on Tuesday where they worshipped dogs and offered them food garlands and marked their forehead with a 'tilak'. Tihar, the second biggest festival of Nepali Hindus, also includes worship of crows and cows. There are many stories and tales behind the celebration and links believed to have been established in between human and dogs. Hindu epic, the Mahabharata, has a plot of Yudhistir's refusal to enter heaven without his devoted dog which represents the concept of dharma and path of righteousness. The dog, the most loyal friend of a man, is regarded as the symbol of Yama, the lord of death.
