Nepal Celebrates Janmashtami with religious fervor

Lalitpur (Nepal), Sep 06 (ANI): Devotees flocked to the 17th-century old Krishna temple that lies within the premises of Patan Durbar Square to mark the occasion of Krishna Janmashtami. Krishna Janmashtami is being celebrated throughout the country with much adoration and veneration. Lord Krishna was born on the midnight of Bhadrakrishna Ashtami of the lunar calendar during the Dwapar era. As per the Hindu scriptures, Lord Krishna, the incarnation of Lord Vishnu draws thousands of devotees from Kathmandu valley to one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites which once used to house kings before the unification of Nepal. The temple was re-opened in 2018 after it sustained minor damages due to the earthquake of 2015. Krishna Janmashtami is celebrated magnificently to cherish the life events of Lord Krishna and people pray for a happy and prosperous life.
