Kathmandu (Nepal), May 29 (ANI): Nepal on Wednesday celebrated the 12th anniversary of the adaptation of the republic system in the country during which many functions were organised. On Wednesday morning, a special procession was organised in Nepal Army Pavilion, commonly known as “Tundikhel”, in which various cultural activities took place and followed by parades of security forces and civil organizations. The head of Republic Day event organizing committee and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli had conveyed his message on the occasion. After the success of People’s Movement II which overthrew over two-century-old monarchy system, Nepal re-established democracy in 2006. Though the parliament at that time was dissolved after failing to promulgate a new constitution which was its objective, Nepal got its’ first republic constitution with federalism in 2015. But the constitution which was adopted in September 2015 divided the country into sections, pushing Madhesh-based parties to go for protest.Every year Nepal celebrates the day with great fervour as it was announced without any bloodshed and which marked a new start for the nation with the adaptation of a new concept of federalism for the development of the nation.
