Muslims offer mass prayers during Bishwa Ijtema pilgrimage

Tongi (Bangladesh), Jan 15 (ANI): Hundreds and thousands of Muslims from across the world made their way to Bangladesh’s Tongi, for the Bishwa Ijtema annual pilgrimage, the second biggest gathering of Muslims after the Haj. First phase of the pilgrimage, held over three days, ended on Sunday with a concluding mass prayer. Muslim scholars from Bangladesh and abroad delivered several sermons on Islamic philosophy. Overcrowded trains and buses carried scores of worshippers to and from the prayer event. Second phase of the Ijtema will begin on January 20 and conclude on January 22.
