Mina (Saudi Arabia), Sep 01 (ANI): Thousands of Muslims carried out the 'stoning of the devil' ritual on Friday to mark the beginning of Eid-al-Adha celebrations, which is the end of the annual Haj season. Saudi Arabia said more than 2.3 million pilgrims, most of them from outside Saudi Arabia, came for the five-day ritual, a religious duty undertaken once in a lifetime for every able-bodied Muslim who can afford the journey. The Grand Mosque in Mecca received the pilgrims for the annual religious journey, which is viewed as one of the Muslim faith's greatest acts of worship. The Kaaba is located at the centre of the Grand Mosque in Mecca.
