Washington DC (USA), Sept 29 (ANI): During an interaction at the Hudson Institute, Dr S Jaishankar listed reasons for economic crisis in Pakistan, without naming the country. When the moderator Walter Russell Mead asked about reason for deteriorating economic situation in India’s western neighbourhoods, without naming Pakistan, S Jaishankar said, multiple chickens are coming home to roost at the same time. “We have a few countries, who are having problems of their own. The unnamed country to our west, their problems are much more long-term. They are much deeper historical in terms of what happens when distortions have been introduced into the natural progress of an economy. If you have excessive expenditure on the military, or if your borrowing has not been prudent or if you have infrastructure which doesn’t pay its way…I think there are a lot of factors…Multiple chickens are coming home to roost at the same time,” he said.
