Moscow (Russia), Apr 04 (ANI/ TV BRICS): A folk song "with flavour" was performed from India during a teleconference of the International "Modern Russian" project. Students and teachers of Russian from New Delhi prepared presentations and creative items for the lesson with Moscow. This is the second video lesson between the two countries. This time, the vocabulary was widened "through the cuisine" of Russia and India, explaining the meaning of proverbs and sayings for the meal. The students at Jawaharlal Nehru University study Russian as a foreign language, for them thematic classes are an opportunity to practice with native speakers. In their creative projects the Telebridge participants compared the cuisines of the two countries. In Russia people drink tea after meals-- and in India - between meals and there are no language barriers. This warming drink sounds the same in Russian and Hindi as ‘Chaai’. Through the history of the recipe one can learn about the geography and architecture of Russia. The Indian students sang Russian folk songs, recited poetry, and sounded so sincere and sentimental in Russian that they even moved the project manager. The next international lesson is likely to be conversational. In dialogue, to help students develop their oral communication.
