Karachi (Pakistan), Nov 02 (ANI): Arzoo Raza, 13, was abducted from her house in broad daylight on 13th October. A Christian minor, Arzoo was converted to Islam and married to a quadragenarian. The abductor, Azhar Ali, presented forged documents before the court claiming Arzoo was an adult when he married her. The court has given her custody to abductor without any probe or proceeding. Forced conversions and subsequent marriages of minority minors is a recurring crime in Pakistan. A large number of Christian, Hindu and Sikh girls have fallen prey. Authorities haven’t cared to address the issue. Minorities accuse them of tacitly supporting the crime. Even the judiciary is accused of complicity. Pakistan is one of the most unsafe places for minorities on earth. State-backed discrimination, crimes have further worsened their condition. From a considerable size in 1947, their number has reduced to a limited few today. Pakistani minorities are crying for justice which is nowhere to be found.
