New York (USA), Oct 21 (ANI): In a historic move to further increase inclusiveness among population of different ethnicities in the US, New York City Mayor Eric Adams announced Diwali as a holiday for the schools in the city. The announcement made its way to the public on October 20, just 3 days ahead of the much loved festival. Diwali replaced the Anniversary Day in the calendar that celebrated the anniversary of the founding of Sunday School Union. The NYC Mayor also expressed gratitude towards State Assembly Member Jenifer Rajkumar and New York City Schools Chancellor David C Banks for their contribution in the big decision.
