Thousands of supporters of Pakistan's jailed former PM Imran Khan held a rally on the outskirts of the eastern city of Lahore on September 21. Protesters and PTI leaders staged a protest following party founder Imran Khan's calling for action to assert democratic rights. The crowd chanted slogans in support of Imran Khan and demanded his release from prison. Various supporters were seen chanting slogans, “Who will save Pakistan? Prisoner number 804.”. The former cricket star, 71, has been in jail for over a year since his overthrow in 2022, spawning the worst political turmoil in decades in the nation. The PTI founder, Imran Khan, however, has termed all the cases politically motivated.
