New York (USA), Sep 25 (ANI): While speaking at 'Relevance of Mahatma Gandhi in the Contemporary World' programme at UN headquarters in New York on Sep 24, Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, “Gandhi ji was a true patriot, statesman and a saint. He dedicated his life for humankind, he was a beacon of hope and light in darkness. Gandhi ji's love for common people & ideals of non-violence contributed to shaping Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib's vision of struggle, non-cooperation, & peaceful movement against oppression & tyranny by the then Pakistani rulers against the peace-loving Bengalis.”
