London police return stolen 12th century Lord Buddha statue to India on I-Day

London (United Kingdom), Aug 15 (ANI): In a good gesture, London's Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) returned 12th century Lord Buddha statue to India on the occasion of India’s 72nd Independence Day on Wednesday. Lord Buddha statue was stolen from India 57 years ago. It was one of the 14 bronze statues that were stolen in 1961 from Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) museum in Nalanda. Indian High Commissioner to UK, YK Sinha thanked MPS for their gesture.
