Israeli military spox, Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, announced restrictions on gatherings from the northern city of Haifa up to the border with Lebanon. The statement has come in anticipation of retaliation for an Israeli strike on Hezbollah commanders in Lebanon. Hagari added that educational and work activities can continue in locations where it is possible to reach a protected space within the required time. At least 37 people died in an Israeli airstrike targeting Hezbollah officials in a Beirut suburb on September 20. The strike sharply escalated the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah as the Iran-backed group initiated retaliatory attacks on Israel. Later, pagers and walkie-talkies used by Hezbollah were instilled with explosives by Israel to inflict damage upon the Iran-backed group. Tens of thousands of people have been evacuated from homes on both sides of the Israel-Lebanon border since October 2023. The current conflict between Israel and Hezbollah is the worst since they fought an all-out war in 2006.
