Geneva, Switzerland, Sep 22, 2022, (ANI): Activists from Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) held an anti-Pakistan protest on the sidelines of 51st session of the UNHRC (United Nations Human Rights Council) in Geneva, Switzerland. The demonstration was held under the aegis of United Kashmir People’s National Party (UKPNP) and was supported by Baloch, Sindhi and Pashtun activists. They highlighted the grave human rights situation in the region which is illegally held by Islamabad for around 75 years. They underscored a consistently deteriorating socio-economic situation in the region. Demonstrators said that they were being denied basic rights and their dissent was being met with brute high handedness. People in the illegally-occupied Kashmir accuse Pakistan of meting out atrocities on them. Over the past several years, many of them have been forced to flee their homes owing to a crackdown launched by Pakistani agencies. Many who were not that fortunate were implicated under trumped up charges and were thrown in jails. The political situation continues to remain grim even today.
