Karachi (Pakistan), June 13 (ANI): Another trouble has knocked the doors of Pakistan, which is already reeling under economic, political crisis. Locals in Pakistan’s Karachi are living in fear as Cyclone Biparjoy intensified into a severe cyclonic storm. Preparations were underway in Pakistan on June 12 for the storm building off its southern coast. The authorities had stopped issuing fishing permits and boats at sea had been recalled amid Biparjoy. A member of the Pakistan Fisherfolk Forum said that degraded mangrove forests near beaches in Karachi would increase the impact of cyclone. He also warned Pakistan's largest city Karachi could suffer substantial damage in a short space of time. In view of the cyclone, a local fisherman said that they are not getting licenses for fishing. In India also, preparations to tackle Cyclone Biparjoy are in full swing. On June 12, PM Modi held a meeting to review the situation related to Cyclone Biparjoy. Home Minister Amit Shah, other officials were also present at the meeting. As per IMD, the cyclone is expected to make landfall in Saurashtra and Kutch on June 15 as a severe cyclonic storm.
