Kanvarias reaches PashupatinathTemple in Nepal

Kathmandu (Nepal), July 18, 2022, (ANI): After a long gap of three years, Kanvarias have returned at Pashupatinath Temple. One of the Kanvarias, Deepu Thakur along with three other friends took dip in the Bagmati River on hillside of Sundarijal. They collected sacred water, performed some rituals and then set off on barefoot for PashupatinathTemple. Kanvarias are group of Hindu devotees of Lord Shiva, the savior of the universe who set off on pilgrimage every Monday in the month of Shrawan. They throng to nearby water resources to fetch the holy water and walk barefoot to the Shiva Shrine and offer them. Sundarijal being one of nearby water resource which contributes to formation of Bagmati River that flows through the Kathmandu as well as Pashupatinath Temple is likeable place for Kanvarias. As per the religious belief, one's wishes are fulfilled and lord Shiva will shower fortune on the devotees who visit the shrines dedicated to him and pay homage after taking early morning shower on the first Monday of the month of Shrawan.
