Johannesburg (South Africa), August 22 (ANI): South Africa’s Johannesburg is ready to host the 15th BRICS Summit, which will begin on August 22. In view of the summit, security arrangements have been increased across the city. To welcome PM Modi, digital screens are set up near Convention Centre in Johannesburg. Ahead of PM Modi’s arrival, Executive Director of Vedanta Africa Pushpender Singla said the “he is excited”. BRICS was founded as an informal club in 2009 and South Africa joined the grouping the following year. BRICS is the acronym for an emerging-market group that comprises Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. The BRICS countries make up over 40 per cent of the world population and about one-fourth of the world economy.
