Auckland (New Zealand), Oct 06 (ANI): Dr S Jaishankar received traditional ‘Maori’ welcome in New Zealand on October 06. The ceremony marked the start of Jaishankar’s official engagements in New Zealand. He took to his Twitter and expressed gratitude sharing the video of the ceremony. A Musical performance was also given by the Indian musicians at the ceremony. Jaishankar also stressed on the importance of respecting each other’s customs and traditions on his latest tweet regarding the ceremony. The Union Minister is on a visit to Australia and New Zealand from October 05 to 11 to further strengthen relations with the two nations. “Was honored to start my official engagements in New Zealand with a traditional Maori welcome. Deeply appreciate the symbolism of convening of two energies together. The respect for customs & traditions is an important aspect of our friendship,” the Union Minister wrote.
