Amid Israel-Hamas war, both sides have agreed on a four-day ceasefire in the ongoing conflict. Residents of Khan Younis have welcomed the four-day truce between Israel and Hamas. The temporary truce was reached on November 22 to allow the release of 50 hostages held in Gaza. In a quid pro quo, Israel will also release 150 Palestinians locked in Jail in exchange for the hostages. The truce deal will also allow humanitarian, medical and fuel assistance to enter Gaza. Israel has committed not to attack or arrest anyone in all parts of Gaza during the truce period. Displaced Gazans hoping for permanent ceasefire as bombardments pause for the first time in over 6 weeks. Israel launched a counterstrike on Gaza after Hamas Terror Group’s ‘surprise attack’ on Oct 7.
