New Delhi, October 10 (ANI): Iran's top authority Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has hailed Hamas' attack on Israel and backed Palestine. However, on October 10 Ayatollah Khamenei said that Tehran had not been involved in the Hamas attack. Meanwhile, Iran's top authority hailed what he called Israel's "irreparable" military and intelligence defeat. In his first televised speech since attack, Khamenei said "We kiss the hands of those who planned the attack". "We kiss the hands of those who planned the attack on the Zionist regime. This destructive earthquake has destroyed some critical structures (in Israel) which will not be repaired easily ... The Zionist regime's own actions are to blame for this disaster," said Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Iran has long backed the Hamas group, which controls the Gaza Strip and rejects Israel's right to exist. On the other hand, Palestine's Envoy to India, Adnan Abu Al Haija rejected claims of Iran’s involvement. Israel smelled Iran’s involvement in helping Hamas to launch surprise air strike on Israeli land. Earlier, Israel said it had re-established control over Gaza border and was planting mines where militants had toppled barrier. The US said that Iran was complicit in Hamas' assault on Israel, though it said it had no evidence pointing to Tehran's direct participation.
