India invested around USD 3 billion in Afghanistan: Indian Ambassador to Turkmenistan

Ashgabat (Turkmenistan), Apr 03 (ANI): Ambassador of India to Turkmenistan Dr Vidhu P Nair on April 03 stated that India has invested around USD 3 billion in Afghanistan. “India has done a lot of investment in Afghanistan, around USD 3 billion. Turkmenistan, being the common border between the 2 countries, has also done a lot of investment, especially in infrastructure, like schools, hospitals, railways,” said Nair while speaking to ANI. His remarks came in light of President Kovind’s visit to Turkmenistan. “India and Turkmenistan’s common interest lies in Afghanistan, which is why synergy is important between the 2 nations. Both Presidents have agreed to cooperate in Afghanistan, especially in terms of security,” he added.
