India considers Turkmenistan as its extended neighbour: President Kovind

Ashgabat (Turkmenistan), April 02 (ANI): President Ram Nath Kovind during his visit to Turkmenistan on April 02, said that India considers Turkmenistan as part of its extended neighbourhood. “This month, India & Turkmenistan are celebrating 30th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations. The countries share historical & civilizational linkages. India considers Turkmenistan as part of its extended neighbourhood,” he said. The President also said, “We were one of the first countries to recognize Turkmenistan's independence in 1991 & establish formal diplomatic relations in 1992.” He is on a three-day visit to the country to discuss ways to boost bilateral ties with the resource-rich Central Asian country – Turkmenistan.
