New York (US), Mar 24 (ANI): Trade between India and Arab regions through Indian ocean had flourished for several centuries even before advent of modern commerce, said Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla on March 23. Speaking at the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) meeting on cooperation between the United Nations and the League of Arab States (LAS), Foreign Secretary Harsh Shringla said, “Trade between India and Arab regions through Indian ocean had flourished for several centuries even before advent of modern commerce. Indian Rupee was legal tender in parts of Arab world not very long ago.”
