Hotel and Tourism industry badly affected amid economic crisis in Sri Lanka

Colombo (Sri Lanka), May 16 (ANI): Hotel and Tourism industry have been severely affected in Colombo due to economic crisis in Sri Lanka. Several hotels located in Colombo have been facing huge losses due to the ongoing crisis. Tourism Sector is one of the major contributors to Sri Lanka’s economy. The island country is reeling under a severe economic crisis with food and fuel scarcity. “Hotels are empty and the beaches are deserted. For last two months, there're no tourists due to current instability and high prices,” tourist guide said. While speaking to ANI, Joffar, a hotel manager said, “Crisis started as the government terribly mismanaged situation. Prices have soared and there're electricity cuts for hours. No foreigners are coming due to it.”
