Gilgit Baltistan, 22 November, 2022: - Scores of employees of local council and municipal corporation staged a demonstration outside the Chief Minister’s residence in the illegally occupied Gilgit Baltistan to raise their demands of salaries and allowances at par with their equals in Pakistani provinces. They accused the government of discrimination and said the authorities were deliberately delaying the process for years. Demonstrators said they were severely hit by runaway inflation and the government which was supposed to provide them a safety net through welfare schemes or allowances had turned a blind eye to their plight.
