Monrovia (Liberia), Jan 23 (ANI): Former international soccer star George Weah took over as the new President of Liberia. During his oath taking ceremony, he promised a crackdown on corruption practices prevailing across the nation. Weah succeeds Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, Liberia's president for 12 years and Africa's first female elected head of State. He grew up in the slums of capital Monrovia and went on to become one of Africa's greatest soccer players.
