G7 leaders hold first meeting of Hiroshima summit, discuss Ukraine crisis

The 49th G7 Leaders’ Summit kicked off in Japan’s Hiroshima on May 19. World Leaders held the first meeting of G7 Leaders’ Summit in Hiroshima. The three-day-long event is expected to see leaders debate on Ukraine crisis. They will also discuss the world’s most pressing issues like climate crisis, pandemic. Japanese PM Kishida in his opening remarks highlighted the Ukraine crisis. Japanese PM called on G7 leaders to be resolute and “resolve issues facing the international community” Ukraine President Zelenskyy is likely to join G7 Leaders’ Summit in person. Earlier, G7 Leaders visited Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park and laid wreaths. G7 leaders' spouses also laid flowers at Peace Memorial Park in Hiroshima.
