Birgunj (Nepal), July 16 (ANI): The flood situation continues to be serious after incessant rainfall since the past few days have caused heavy damages in Birgunj town of Nepal. Thousands were displaced from their homes as floodwater rose in the rivers, inundating whole villages, primarily in the Terai. Meanwhile, the death toll from the Nepal floods caused by the monsoon rains reached almost 70. Highways too were blocked either by the waters or by landslides. Heavy rainfall forced people to vacate their homes and move to safer areas. People have taken shelter in relief camps and relief distribution centres.
