Excitement at peak in Austrian mountain amid Skiing, paragliding and mountain biking

Mayrhofen (Austria), Dec 18 (ANI): The sixth Rise and Fall race, a relay with two 430-metre vertical climbs and descents of the Austrian Alps by Skiing, paragliding and mountain biking, was held in Mayrhofen of Austria on Saturday. Over 2,000 spectators watched the event where 80 teams from all over Europe battled for victory. The relay race began with a 1.3-km cross-country ski climb, after which the competitors handed over to their paragliding team mate. After landing back down the mountainside, the paragliders had a 400-metre run to hand over to their mountain biking team mate. They then faced a 3.7-km climb back up the mountain before the final leg of the relay, a 1.3-km ski or snowboard sprint back down the mountain.
