Athens (Greece), Mar 27 (ANI): Former Greek Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis, has launched a new party promising to free his country from debt bondage. The firebrand academic economist, who once described the austerity imposed by Greece's creditors as "fiscal waterboarding," said his new MeRA25 party would revive the economy. As Finance Minister during the debt crisis, Yanis Varoufakis was a star performer for some. Fitting then that Yanis Varoufakis chose a theatre to launch his new political party. The Former Greek Finance Minister’s aim is to stop Greece being a "debtors colony." The man EU officials once called ‘a communist in a Burberry scarf,’ clearly has his fans. But times have changed since he resigned in 2015.
