Port Moresby (Papua New Guinea), May 21 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Papua New Guinea on May 21. The arrival of PM Modi in Papua New Guinea witnessed an exceptional response from the host country. In an unprecedented gesture to PM Modi, Papua New Guinea PM James Marape personally reached the airport to receive him. PM Marape touched PM Modi’s feet and sought his blessings upon his arrival at the island nation. Usually, Papua New Guinea doesn’t give a ceremonial welcome for any leader arriving to nation after sunset. However, Papua New Guinea broke the protocol and a special ceremonial welcome was arranged for PM Modi. Notably, Narendra Modi is the first Indian Prime Minister to visit Papua New Guinea. PM Modi is visiting Papua New Guinea for the FIPIC Summit which will see participation from leaders of 14 countries. After his visit to Papua New Guinea, PM Modi will visit Australia and hold talks with PM Anthony Albanese. According to the Australian government website, Harris Park is home to large Indian community. India has been receiving back-to-back invitations from members of the G7 nation post the Summit
