Dominican Republic prepares for Category 4 storm Hurricane Irma

Florida, Sep 06 (ANI): Florida has started preparing for Hurricane Irma, which has been upgraded to a powerful Category 4 storm. The storm is proceeding towards Caribbean and the southern United States. Amid the uncertainty of the hurricane hitting Miami Shores, people living in and around have started stocking groceries to avoid situation of crisis in future. Florida on Monday declared a state of emergency as Irma is expecting to reach southern Florida on Saturday. The intensifying storm has the potential to brutalize the area with life-threatening wind, storm surges and torrential rain. In view of the expected destruction that can be caused, Hurricane advisories were issued for territories that dot the West Indies, including parts of the Leeward Islands, the British and U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.
