Russia, Feb 23 (ANI/ TV BRICS): The sled and musher are ready and the dogs are raring to go. Dozens of athletes from different cities are about to find out who is faster in several sledding disciplines. So, everything is like an athlete, everything is the same. Coherence in sports is the key. The ace pilotage is achieved when the musher and the dog understand each other without words. Vera Komleva has been sledding since 2018. She has reached the role of a referee. But even in this status she can't deny herself racing. She checks athletes for false starts and gets out on the track as well. There were nuances this year as well. Due to the lack of snow, athletes had issues with training. Therefore, the distances were short, up to 8 km. As the organisers point out, this time not so many competitors arrived, and this increases the chances of victory! But the most important of all is the fan support. Sled dog racing is over 150 years old. During this time sled dogs have ceased to be the only means of transport for people in the north and have gained popularity among racing enthusiasts. Athletes warn - a sled dog requires free time, without training, an energetic dog can turn a house into a race track.
