Kathmandu (Nepal), Oct 8, 2021 (ANI): One of the auspicious festivals in the Himalayan Nation known as ‘Bada Dashain’ has started on Thursday. With the beginning of the festival, the barley jar filled with soil and cow dung implanted for germination of “ Jamara”. During the festival, the jar is placed on the sacred corner of the house for 9 days and taken out on 10th day and worn on the head along with tika on the forehead. As per the beliefs, Lord Ram had put on Jamara and went to fight with devils and got victory over them. In order to celebrate the victory, Hindu pilgrims worship Durga Devi from Ghatasthapana to Navaratra and put on the tika on 10th day. People also recite sacred verses and hymns dedicated to Durga Bhawani at temples and shrines as well as at their homes throughout the Dashain period.
