Moscow (Russia), Mar 09 (ANI): Health, well-being and quality education for all are essential goals of the UN mission of sustainable development. On international childhood cancer awareness day, the organisation's Moscow office opened a session for experts and schoolchildren in the field. Participants discussed the problem and how to raise awareness about it. The specialists of the "Learning knowing" hospital school project help the young patients to adapt to the difficult diagnosis. These educational institutions have already opened in 60 regions of Russia. They provide children with the necessary psychological help and follow the school curriculum. To this end, experts are developing new therapy methods. The WHO hopes: the minimum cure rate for children with cancer will rise to 60% by 2030. Future scientists aren't lagging behind. The problem with treating cancer is that once the cells have mutated, the immune system does not recognise them as malignant. But now there is an opportunity to tackle this too. At the end of the meeting, the participants updated the issues of combating childhood cancer in Russia and abroad, and outlined new vectors in this work.
