Sydney (Australia), Sep 11 (ANI): More than 2,00,000 people gathered for the biggest same sex marriage rally in Australian history. The demonstration for LGBTIQ rights was held in Sydney. The march began at the steps of the city's Town Hall and comes as the country starts a postal survey, which could make same-sex marriage legal. Supporters clad in rainbow colors filled the heart of the city to insist on equal rights. The country's Opposition Leader, Bill Shorten, was among them. Australia is one of the only developed English-speaking countries not to have legalised same-sex marriage. That's despite strong popular support and the backing of a majority of lawmakers.
