Kathmandu (Nepal), Feb 17 (ANI): Students in Nepal thronged Saraswati Temple to mark the auspicious day of “Basant Panchami” on Tuesday. Nepali boy Mihir Oli started his journey of knowing the alphabets with his father who had accompanied him. His father brought him to Saraswati Temple on the day where babies like Mihir are introduced to alphabets and worship goddess of education Saraswati to mark Basant Panchami. Basant Panchami is also popular amongst students as Saraswati Pooja which falls on Shukla Panchami of Nepali month, marks the beginning of spring season. It follows the religious belief that if students worship Saraswati, they will get success in their studies. In comparison to earlier years, celebration of Saraswati Puja this year is largely limited due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic as most schools in Kathmandu Valley chose not to organize any formal events to celebrate.
