Anurag Thakur relives Himachal’s special link to France, says’ relationship is very old’

Cannes (France), May 19 (ANI): Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur on May 19 paid floral tributes at the busts of Maharaja Ranjit Singh, Rani Bannu Pan Dei, and General Allard in Saint Tropez, France. During his visit, he relived Himachal Pradesh’s special connection to France. “The relationship between India and France is very old. Princess Bannu Pan Dei of Chamba was married to General Allard in the army of Maharaja Ranjit Singh. Even today, statues of Princess Bannu Pan Dei, Maharaja Ranjit Singh and General Allard are installed here” he said. The minister further said, “I have also come here to further strengthen the relationship between these two countries. In the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India and France’s relationship has become very strong.”
