Kabul (Afghanistan), Dec 29 (ANI): At least 40 people were killed and 30 were injured after a suicide bomb attack at a news agency in Kabul on Thursday. Currently the region is being under heavy security and high alert. Officials say the explosion hit a news agency and a neighboring Shi'ite cultural centre. Many of the victims were students attending a conference, a discussion on the anniversary of the Soviet invasion of the country. Islamic State said in an online statement that it was responsible for the attack, the latest in a series the movement has claimed on Shi'ite targets in Kabul. High-profile attacks in Afghanistan's big cities have continued despite heavy U.S. airstrikes on militants across the country.
